GM (General Motors) is one of the largest car manufacturers in the world. GM is having Chevrolet as its brand inIndia.  GM India is planning to launch SAIL as hatchback inIndia. General motors have unveiled the 2012 Chevrolet SAIL at the Delhi Auto Expo 2012.

This new model from GM is likely to be launched in the third quarter (July- September) of 2012. This SAIL 2012 model from Chevrolet is likely to come with 1200 cc petrol engine for which tax concession can availed. Chevrolet SAIL 2012 shall give competition to Maruti Suzuki Swift, Maruti Suzuki Ritz, Honda Jazz, Hyundai i20 and Fiat Grande punto. Chevrolet is also planning SAIL 2012 as diesel variant with 1400 cc engine. Chevrolet is presently having spark, Beat, Cruze, Aveo, Tavera and captiva models inIndia.  Chevrolet is planning to launch new captive and an MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) inIndia.

General Motor is offering Chevrolet SAIL as both petrol and diesel variants inIndia. Both the interiors and exteriors of Chevrolet SAIL offer sporty design. Chevrolet SAIL models come with GM’s latest smartech engines that offer high power and more fuel efficient and with low emissions. Safety features of Chevrolet SAIL include body made of high strength steel. For the safety of the driver and passenger’s fuel tank is made of steel beam rolling ribs. This model comes with 5 speed manual transmission.

2012 Chevrolet SAIL petrol/ diesel price:

The official price of this model is not yet announced. It is expected to be available at a price of Rs.5 lakhs for base model. We have wait till the launch of this car for the actual ex showroom and on road price for all the models of diesel and petrol variants.
