Renault is a French automobile company and is having its manufacturing facilities inIndia. Renault is presently having Koleos, Duster, Fluence and Pulse as its cars inIndia. PresentlyIndiasmall cars or entry cars are having a market share of 40% inIndia. Renault is planning to launch a small car with an engine capacity of around 800 cc in Indian markets. Presently Alto from Maruti Suzuki, Eon from Hyundai and Nano from Tata are the small cars that come with below 1000 cc engines. Datsun is also planning to launch small car in Indian markets. Presently then small car market is dominated by Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki. With the launch of Small car from Renault Alto and Eon are expected to face competition. Apart from Eon and Alto the other models likely to face competition include Wagon R from Maruti Suzuki, Chevrolet Spark from General Motors and Santro Xing from Hyundai and cervo to be launched by Maruti Suzuki.

The present small car from Renault pulse is available at a price range of Rs.4.25 lakhs to rs.6.50 lakhs. The new small car to be launched from Renault is expected to be below Rs.4 lakhs. The expected small car from Renault is expected to provide a mileage of 20 kmpl for city driving conditions and ARAI certified mileage is expected to be 24-26 kmpl.

Date of launch of Renault small car inIndia: It is speculated that the new small car from Renault is likely to be launched in 2014-15 inIndia.
