Apple has opened avenues for consumer electronic goods manufacturers with the success of its tablet pc ipad. Tablets are smaller versions of laptops. These will be handy to operate and these are with touch screens and virtual keyboard will be available as touch screen. Motorola, lenovo, hp ,  asus have launched their tablet pcs also called as tabs. At the CES 2011 (Consumer Electronic Show 2011) nearly 80 companies have displayed their tab models to be launched soon.  Samsung has launched its first tab as galaxy tab in November 2011. Apple’s ipad, Motorola’s xoom, hp’s touchpad and lenovo’s lepad are the competitors for Samsung’s galaxy tab.

Samsung galaxy tab has android os 2.2 as its operating system.  Connectivity features with Samsung galaxy tab include wi-fi, 3g and Bluetooth v3.0. Users can have video calling with its 1.3 MP front camera and 3MP rear camera.  External keyboard can be connected. Reading of e-books will be easier with Samsung galaxy tab.  It comes with 4000 mAh battery and can provide better user time compared with laptop. This can be used as mobile phone with connection of SIM card to the tab. Samsung galaxy tab can be used as camera with its  3 MP camera.
