Lord Shiva as Sri Kalahasteeswara is the presiding deity atSrikalahastiTemplelocated at Srikalahasti. It is located on then banks ofSwarnamukhiRiver. Sri Kalahasti is near to Tirupati. Devotees having Darshan of lord venkateswara also visit Lord Shiva at Srikalahasti. Pooja is performed to rahu and ketu atSrikalahastiTemple. Those having Dosha for Rahu, Kethu and sarpa perform Pooja to counter the ill effects of rahu kethu Dosha. Rahu, Kethu and Sarpa Dosha Pooja can be performed between 6.30 AM and 9.00 PM at thisSrikalahastiTemple. Significance of Srikalahasti: Sri means spider, kala means serpent and hasti means elephant. As the three are devotees of lord Shiva the name Srikalahasti came into existence.
How to reach Srikalahasti: Srikalahasti is very near to Tirupati. Devotees can reach to Srikalahasti from Tirupati by APSRTC buses, private buses or by taxis. Tirupati can be reached from rest ofIndiaby Air, rail and by Bus.
Accommodation atSrikalahastiTemple: Devotees can have their accommodation at Srikalahasti Devasthanam guest houses namely Trinetra Guest House, Shankara Muni Complex, Shiva sadan and Bharadwaja Sadan. There are both Air-conditioned and non AC accommodation ranging from Rs.150/- to Rs.400/-.
