WHO (World Health Organization) has taken the initiative to reduce smoking in then world. Smoking or consuming tobacco leads to early death and cancer the deadly disease.  Voluntary organization, Non profit organizations, Non government organization, government agencies, Organizations concerned about public health do participate in the campaign for anti smoking across then world. Placards and posters containing the messages that convey the ill effects of smoking and health problems related to consuming tobacco are displayed by the organizers.  Now days public especially youth are carried away by the advertisement that the tobacco companies make. These ads are contributing for the increase in the consumption of tobacco. As part of the initiative taken by WHO for world no tobacco day the warning labels containing the health risks associated with tobacco consumption are being printed over the packaging.

Every year the world no smoking day is observed on the 31st may. First world no tobacco day was observed in 1987. Every year one theme is taken and is campaigned across the public through out the world.  “Tobacco industry Interference” is the theme chosen by WHO for this year 2012, for world no smoking day 2012. WHO is planning to draw the attention of government agencies and general public on the need to reduce the consumption of tobacco. Smoking also pollutes the surrounding environment.

 

World Anti smoking day 2012:

With the campaign and organizing WNTD, WHO is planning to keep the smoker’s way from smoking at least 24 hours in a year. By observing world no smoking day we can save the air to get polluted and there by save future generations from smoking.
