We can hear about Red Cross society serving the victims of war, natural calamities and diseases across the world. Red Cross is a movement that voluntarily serves the victims across the world irrespective of any religion or region.  Red Cross can be said to be largest unpaid voluntary organization serving then maximum number of people across the globe. ICRC (International Committee of Red Cross) takes care of Red Cross societies and Red Cross crescents around the world. There are more than 186 national registered Red Cross societies registered with ICRC. All these societies use the emblem of Red Cross for their organizations. The aim of Red Cross is to bridge the gap between crisis and crisis management. Volunteers of Red Cross society work on the principles of serving human kind when they are in help less stage. www.icrc.org is the official website of International committee of Red Cross). There are more than 97 million volunteers for Red Cross societies and these members serve more than 220 million people across the world every year.

Date of World cross day 2012:

Every year world Red Cross day is organized on May 8. This year in 2012 also it is organized on 8th may 2012.  This world Red Cross day is also the birth day of the founder of Red Cross Henri Dunant. This day is dedicated for the volunteers sacrificed during their service.

Every year one theme is taken to spread the message of Red Cross societies. This year in 2012 the theme is “Together for Humanity”.  Almost all the nations are having Red Cross societies.
